I will admit that there are times when I feel overwhelmed by all of this variety, and actually end up eating the same foods over and over again. I call this the “food slump.” And I’m sure that I’m not alone in experiencing this dreaded food slump!
When I find myself becoming bored or uninterested with new foods, it becomes increasingly more difficult to say “No” to off-plan foods. That’s why I love healthy dipping sauces and dressings! It adds interesting flavor profiles to the foods that I eat every day, which keeps my taste buds – and my waistline – happy!
Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce or Dressing Recipe
- 2 tablespoons light mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon mustard (Dijon, grainy, etc.)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons water (more or less to achieve desired consistency)
Whisk all ingredients except water in a small bowl until well combined. Add water a little at a time until you reach desired consistency – thicker for dipping sauce and thinner for dressing.
Makes 2 servings
