A Bellini is a fruity cocktail made with white peaches and Prosecco, an Italian sparking wine, and would be the perfect summertime refresher – except for the fact that alcohol can slow down weight loss, and is even one of the leading causes of weight gain and weight regain.
But, as well all know, making on-plan variations of our favorite recipes can be simple, and having a variety of healthy options is the best way to set ourselves up for success. When it gets hot this summer, instead of reach for an empty calorie beer or sugar-packed soda, opt for one of our summer mocktails, like this chilled Bellini.
Remember to drink at least 80 ounces of water every day! This number may increase as the weather gets warmer, and we start to get more active outdoors. Be sure to keep plenty of water on-hand to keep yourself hydrated and ready for more summer fun.
Bellini Summer Mocktail
- 1/2 C. diet ginger ale
- 1/4 C. fresh white peach puree
Puree half a peeled white peach in a food processor. Yellow peaches may be substituted if peaches are not in season. Put puree into a champagne flute and pour diet ginger ale over it.
For extra bursts of flavor, try adding some frozen blueberries or raspberries to your summer mocktails, or garnish with a sliced strawberry!
